Ahh... The Day of Love and Job Searching

I had a wonderful Valentine's Day, and I hope everyone did as well! John came home with flowers, chocolates, balloons, and jam with bagles, because it's an adorable inside joke between us.

For my birthday he had taken me to Hot Topic and they had given me a Harry Potter button that I had ended up losing in his car which he ended up finding.

As a belated Valentines today I'll be having lunch and coffee with my parents, since they were my first original Valentines :)

I got a job!

I've been looking to nanny again and found a family that needed their sweet baby girl watched. The family is really nice and I think it will be a good fit.

Annalyn's Chicken Noodle Soup Recipe

I had stopped by Aldi's the other day and saw some chicken broth. I have never made home made soup before in my life and wanted to give it a try. It ended up sitting in the cupboard for a few days before I finally used it! John has been sick and when he talks he sounds like Chewbacka so today was the perfect day to whip up some chicken noodle soup.

It's so simple and shouldn't take more than 20 minutes :)

Here is my recipe!

Ingredients

3-4 chicken tenderloins

10-15 baby carrots

1/3 of a white onion

2 garlic cloves (or use garlic salt)

parsley

salt

chicken seasoning

chicken broth

1 cup of pasta of your choice (I used rotini)

thyme

My chicken broth that I got was low on sodium so I added more salt for taste.

This chicken seasoning really added the flavor! I tried it before and after; the difference was incredible.

Instructions

1. Cut up chicken tenderloins to your liking.

2. Combine broth, chicken, and pasta in pot; heat for 10 minutes

3. Add carrots, onions, garlic, and spices.

4. Bring all to a boil, stirring occassionaly.

5. Let soup cool and enjoy!

We had toast on the side that we dipped in, it was perfect for a rainy cold day! I was pretty happy with the outcome considering it was my first time. :)

Libraries and Oil Museums

The other day I had an itch to shoot some photos and spend time with John so we went on a little date. I had wanted to take him to the cute little coffeeshop/bookstore down the street that Julia (my sister) had taken me to the other day. We got some delicious coffee, chatted with the owner, and browsed through some books.

We then headed to the Downtown Oil Museum. It was almost closing time so the lady let us in for a cheaper price; which gave us time to walk around and take a few pics.

There were some very interesting things in there...

I would of loved to take more time to take more pictures but it was time to go. However I had taken lots of pictures from a previous time so I wasn't complaining too badly.

It was also Andrew's (my brother's)  birthday that day so we headed to my parent's house to celebrate. I can't believe he is 16, how time flies!!

Welcome

So here it is, my first post. I tried starting a blog 4 years ago and just didn't get into it. Writing and photography are my passions so why not mix the two? Perhaps it is time to try again; hopefully I actually stick to this. :)

I'm writing this at 1:00am in the morning since I had coffee; why have I not switched to decaf? Today I went to my brother's baseball game with his girlfriend and her mom. We were not very prepared for the cold; it was 30 degrees! So happy I grabbed John's (my husband) thick coat that kept the three of us warm. It was difficult to pay attention to the game since we were so cold and pre-occupied with taking selfies and laughing at each other's banter. Some folks next us brought a portable heater and shared that with us so we would not freeze.

I wanted to take photos but John needed the camera for his art classes that he is working on. Sleep is starting to sound really good right now but I promise that I will be back!
